Be You!

For our "Be You" campaign, we focused on building the cultural competence of our members by providing multiple opportunities for positive affirmations, self-awareness, self-confidence, appreciation for individuality, and an appreciation for diversity. Although cultural competence can be achieved in many ways, we implemented several things in the Clubs to encourage our members to be the best version of their authentic selves.

Career Appreciation

We launched our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programming around Career Appreciation and we had some really exciting initiatives for our members. The intention of Career Appreciation Month was to expose our members to the many career opportunities available to pursue, as well as providing a space for members to show appreciation for all walks of life and ways to earn money. We strived to eliminate any perception that any profession is less credible than another, and to equally distribute value among career options. We wanted to educate members on how a person's socioeconomic status, DOES NOT place a value on their worth as a person/individual.

Disability Awareness

We launched our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programming around Disability Awareness and we had some really exciting initiatives for our members. Through disability awareness, the misconceptions and surrounding those with disabilities can be brought to the forefront. When we eradicate these stereotypes, attitudes and behaviors become more positive and impactful. Digging deeper to create a better understanding is a powerful way to raise awareness. Awareness of any type allows opportunities for everyone to be involved and engaged in creating and fostering a positive, inclusive environment for all while teaching empathy, compassion, and acceptance. All month, we will strived to minimize discriminating culture and promote disability awareness for each and every individual and build foundations of empathy that help to break social barriers.
