"JUST ENOUGH IS SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

NOT ANYMORE."

- Keith G. Fletcher

President & CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County

AIM HIGHER

Campaign Priorities:

  • 1. HEALTHY LIFESYTLES: Mind, Body & Soul

In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, food insecurities soared turning to community programs like Boys & Girls Clubs to help put food on the table.

WHY IT MATTERS TO US:  Children growing up in food insecure households face many challenges.  This is why we simply must AIM HIGHER in providing access to healthy and nutritious resources (fruits and vegetables) to our Club families.

  • 2. SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL & BEHAVIORAL WELLBEING

Bringing healing and hope to youth across Martin County.

WHY IT MATTERS TO US:  Existing problems adversely affect learning and development for children and youth at all levels throughout our community.

FOR SOME, it is as simple as landing an interest, explored in our Clubs such as drawing, singing, sports and/or academics.  FOR OTHERS, the road ahead is rough and full of challenges.

OUR CLUBS are prepared to help with short - and long-term solutions so that every child who walks through our doors receives the right care, at the right time by trusted people with experience.

  • 3. SCHOOL BASED PARTNERSHIPS

By meeting children and youth where they are, we continue the foundational behavioral and academic skills in their schoolhouse with learning experiences and enrichment opportunities only foudn in our Clubs.

  • Elementary & Middle Schools: AMERICORPS

As the leading federal agency connecting individuals and organizations to help communities tackle their toughest chalenges by sending people, power and funding across the country, AmeriCorps members are an indispensable part of the American experience.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County's funding partner since 2018, AmeriCorps yields a Triple Bottom Line:

    • People
    • Purpose
    • Passion
  • High Schools: Peer Forward

Paired with a mentor to inspire, guide and support ALL students working toward a college path and serving all 3 Martin County High Schools, our vision is that every Club senior will have a plan immediately upon graduation:

    • At least 3 college applications per student
    • A well written and thoughtful personal statement essay
    • Getting and staying on track with course pre-requisites
    • Expert guidance on completing financial aid documentation and long term earned income decisions for institution of choice
  • 4. SAFETY & MODERNIZATION

Recognizing the positive impact settings and environments have on student health, thinking and performance, the Building Great Futures campaign will ignite the foundation of a new and improved generation of Clubs, re-designed to accomodate enrollment growth and support safer, healthier and more resilient community engagement efforts.
