Our Club members take part in high-impact learning opportunities that are fun and educational. They find a world of age-appropriate resources and experiences and a safe place to explore interests, make positive social relationships, and gain confidence.
Our staff helps them to become confident and strong students who will graduate from high school on time with a realistic and ambitious plan for success.
Certified teachers administer small group literacy instruction to struggling readers in first through third grade at all five Clubs. Pre and post-program assessments are conducted to measure youth success in each program. BeREADy was awarded as the top overall Boys & Girls Club program in the state by the Florida Area Council in 2014.
Club members learn about plants and animals that inhabit South Florida and the importance of preserving wildlife. Members take educational field trips to various natural areas and learn through tours and exhibits.
Paws to Read
This literacy program targets children ages 9-12 and is conducted in partnership with the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast. Paws to Read provides struggling readers with the opportunity to read out loud and without judgment to trained dogs who are accompanied by their masters. The dogs' masters are volunteers from Humane Society.
This is a mandatory tutoring and homework help program in which youth ages 6 - 18 develop academic, behavioral, and social skills. Club members receive one-on-one instruction and also participate in high-yield learning activities such as journaling about current events and participating in games that develop cognitive skills.
Summer Brain Gain
This summer enrichment program is designed to combat summer learning loss through modules that are themed and aligned with state standards. Summer learning loss is experienced by all youth when they are not actively engaged in educational programming during the summer months.
