Branch Director

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County is looking for a proven leader to direct and manage the overall day-to-day operations of our Stuart Club. The primary focus is on programs, supervision and training of staff, facilities management, community relations and membership administration.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • In keeping with the Formula for Impact objectives establishes and implements Branch programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and that create a Club environment that facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
  • Secures a healthy and safe environment, overseeing the maintenance of Branch facilities, equipment and supplies. Determines and makes needed purchases or approves purchase requests.
  • Communicates daily with Club professional staff to interpret and explain program objectives and standards, discuss issues and provide and/or receive information; maintains contact with Branch Boards; and, initiates and monitors regular communication with Club members, as needed for discipline, advice and counsel.
  • Plans, develops, implements and evaluates overall Branch programs, services and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives, as well as member needs and interests.
  • Prepares and assesses regular reports reflecting all Branch activities, attendance and participation and prepares Formula for Impact reports.
  • Manages, supervises and examines the Branch’s financial resources and assists in the development of annual budgets, as well as the controlling of expenditures in relation to the Branch’s established budget.
  • Ensures administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of physical properties and Club equipment, including the use of facilities by outside groups and ensures compliance with organizational policies.
  • Orients, recruits, manages and provides career development opportunities for Branch staff and volunteers.
  • Conducts and organizes regular staff meetings.
  • Initiates and surveys partnerships with parents, community leaders and organizations.
  • Exercises authority over problems relating to members, utilizing provided guidance and established disciplinary plan.
  • Develops, maintains and coordinates relations to increase the visibility of programs, services and activities within the Club and the community.
  • Communicates with external community groups, schools, members’ parents and others to assist in resolving problems and to publicize the Club.

Skills Required:

  • Four year degree in related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
  • Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications (or obtain within the first three months of employment).

Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000

Schedule : Monday- Friday from 10:00 am-7:00 pm with occasional support on weekends

After School Meals Program Specialist (Part-Time)

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County is seeking a proven leader to plan, implement and supervise the After School Meals Program for members following all requirements.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Follow the Youth Development Strategy - Instill in youth feelings of Belonging, Usefulness, Influence and Competence (BUIC).
  • Responsible for daily tracking of club distributed snacks and meals.
  • Provide active supervision during meals to ensure safety of club members.
  • Responsible for ensuring food areas are clean and that food safety standards are being met.
  • Gain a working knowledge of grant outcome expectations and report results as requested.
  • Discipline members fairly, consistently, and only according to established policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor to members and peers.
  • Work actively with volunteers to guide them regarding member activities and needs.

Additional Responsibilities

  • May participate in daily programming and/or special events.
  • May drive Club van.
  • May input program data into database.
  • Complete trainings as required.
  • May be required to help out in multiple areas as needed.
  • Clean area as needed.

Skills/Knowledge Required

  • High School diploma or GED (or working towards).
  • Experience working with children.
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications (or obtain within the first three months of employment).
  • Valid Divers License
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Pay Range: $9.00-12.00 per hour

Hours: Monday through Friday from 12:30 pm- 6:30 pm.

Indiantown Garden Coordinator (Part-Time)

Primary Function

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County is seeking a part time Garden Coordinator who would be responsible for the overall management, coordination and construction of the garden in Carter Park as well as the oversight of the garden, club member garden program, garden partners, and volunteers. The Garden Coordinator should be a strong advocate of the garden, have project and people management skills, have experience working with children’s garden programs, and be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities  

  • Recruit and organize resources to complete the construction of the garden.
  • Coordinate and facilitate gardening programs for Boys & Girls Club members that include measurements and outcomes. 
  • Assist in recruiting and selecting community plot gardeners.
  • Organize, manage and build relationships with volunteers and gardeners.
  • Ensure that gardens are kept clean and pristine.
  • Ensure that all beds are utilized, that all gardeners are in good standing and new gardeners receive proper orientation.
  • Provide regular communications to supervisor, volunteers, gardeners, and donors (as requested), regarding the overall status of the garden.
  • Manage the approved budget with the support of supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Advise on and assist with the maintenance and the Indiantown Boys & Girls Club learning garden.
  • Participate in special programs and/or events as assigned.
  • Complete trainings as required.

Skills/Knowledge Required

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Prior gardening/farming experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with small-scale agriculture, such as CSAs (communicated-supported agriculture) or small family farms.
  • Experience purchasing garden supplies.
  • Interpersonal skills to deal courteously and effectively with members, staff and the public.
  • Must be physically able to handle work in the garden such as digging, lifting, bending, etc.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Supervisory skills and aptitude.

Pay: $14.00 per hour

Schedule:  Flexible hours

Bus Driver (Part-Time)

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County is seeking a Bus Driver who would be responsible for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the children, staff and volunteers during transportation to and from the Club. This individual will guarantee that the bus is in proper working condition at all times, must follow safe bus routes and maintain all transportation records required by the Club.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Report any bus malfunctions or needed repairs.
  • Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations.
  • Drive gasoline, diesel, or electrically powered multi-passenger vehicles to transport members
  • Check the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order.
  • Comply with traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
  • Follow safety rules as members are boarding and exiting buses.
  • Pick up and drop off students at regularly scheduled neighborhood locations.
  • Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort.
  • Keep bus interiors clean for passengers.
  • Maintain order among members during trips, in order to ensure safety.
  • Prepare reports that may include the number of passengers, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption, and/or fares received.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess a High School diploma or GED (or working towards).
  • Must have a valid CDL Class B license
  • Must be passionate about working with kids, experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to pass a level II background check and drug screen.

Pay: $15.00 per hour with a guaranteed four hours of pay on every school day worked

Schedule: This is a part time position with hours between 1:30 pm and 6:00 pm on school days. Additional hours to be worked on non-school days and during summer break.

Location: Palm City & Stuart

 

 

Summer Program Specialist (Seasonal)

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County is looking for summer candidates to plan, implement and supervise programs and high yield learning activities with our Club Members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with our Club Members.
  • Must be energetic, have lots of stamina and be a team player.
  • Follow the Youth Development Strategy - Instill in youth feelings of Belonging, Usefulness, Influence and Competence (BUIC).
  • In keeping with the Formula for Impact objectives effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for members that are fun, educational and engaging.
  • Post and follow a weekly lesson plan.
  • Plan special events, such as guest speakers, performances or field trips.
  • Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members including maintaining a ratio of staff to members of 1:25 or less.
  • Gain a working knowledge of grant outcome expectations and report results as requested.

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess a High School diploma or GED (or working towards).
  • Must be passionate about working with kids, experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to pass a level II background check and drug screen.

Pay Range : $9.00-$12.00 per hour

Summer Club Operating Hours : Monday-Friday from 7:30 am- 5:30 pm

Locations : Hobe Sound, Port Salerno, Stuart, Palm City and Indiantown

Our award-winning afterschool programs are available to all children aged 6 to 18 in five club locations - Hobe Sound, Indiantown, Palm City, Port Salerno and Stuart. The annual membership fee is $35 for the school year, $275 for summer break, and teens may join at no charge.

$50 Discount: Pay the Summer Program fee in one full payment by June 1 and the fee is just $225 per member - ages 6 to 12. Teens Are FREE, all year-round!
